Based on true events. A tightly knit cult hiding in a remote desert enclave prepare for an impending apocalypse, lead by a charismatic leader who binds them all to a suicide pact, in hopes of transcending earth for a new life in an interstellar paradise. Two dissenters try to escape through the vast desert wasteland on the eve of the mass suicide, and are hunted by the cult's enforcer - who will stop at nothing to see they keep their part of the bargain.
